11E Building

This is the new City Hall located in Heming Plaza.  The St. James building originally housed the Cohen Brothers department store (the first in the city).  After being dormant for 12 years and a $26 million renovation it holds the office of the Mayor and 620 other employees.

This is the old 15 story City Hall building that was used for 37 years.  Some city offices remain in the old City Hall, and the State Attorney's Office have relocated into the Bay Street building as well.

All photos were taken by Dr. Ray Oldakowski and Phil Stubblefield.  The map was provided by the Jacksonville Visitors Guide, Winter 2000.Updated 2003.
