Performance Opportunities

The  Music Department offers a variety of instrumental and vocal ensembles that provide professional training and excellent music experiences for all students in the University. In addition to the ensembles listed below, students may participate in chamber music groups, students recitals and pep band.

Instrumental Ensembles

University-Community Orchestra

The Orchestra explores the riches of the symphonic repertoire and often features student soloists. It also provides accompaniment for musicals and operas.

University Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble provides performance opportunities for qualified wind and percussion players. The group studies and performs works from the traditional and contemporary wind repertoire.

Vocal Ensembles

Concert Choir

The Concert Choir performs outstanding choral literature drawn from all historical periods with an emphasis on major choral works and traditional college repertoire.

Chamber Singers

The Chamber Singers perform advanced literature from all periods with an emphasis on chamber music. The group tours occasionally and performs both on and off campus.

Dolphinaires

The Dolphinaires is a show choir that performs vocal jazz. The group maintains an active performance schedule.

Opera/Music Theatre Workshop

This course is a laboratory for developing both individual performance skills and an ensemble of opera or music theatre performers. Performances include solo and ensemble scenes from standard lyric theatre works or one-act operas.
