The Master of Arts in Teaching in Reading Education program allows certified teachers to learn more about reading and literacy education, and prepares non-certified teachers to complete the requirements for certification for K-12 reading. The coursework covers strategies for teaching reading and for diagnosing and correcting reading problems. It also includes a course on integrating reading with the subject areas in middle and high schools.
- This program offers an in-depth focus on reading — one of the most critical learning skills.
- Non-certified teachers complete a relevant internship in the field.
- Clinical, hands-on experience is part of the curriculum. You’ll be able to apply new techniques immediately in your own classroom.
- Award-winning faculty not only teach the courses, but advise students and ensure an intimate learning environment.
