Jacksonville University is one of only a few programs in the state of Florida offering a Dance Education degree. The program is a collaborative effort between the School of Education and the College of Fine Arts. Dance Education majors complete an intensive study in dance and also complete the education requirements that lead to certification in dance education. With small classes and award-winning faculty in the Department of Dance and in the School of Education, students have an opportunity for individual attention and collaborative learning.

Graduates of the Dance Education program can attain certification to teach dance at the elementary or secondary level.
