ABD Florida State University, BA Brigham Young University. Currently he is completing his dissertation titled , Performing Mormonism: LDS Pageants and Historical Sites in Palmyra and Nauvoo.” His particular areas of concentration are in Theatre History, Theory, and Criticism. He also has expertise in playwriting and dramaturgy. As a playwright, Mr. Bell was the 1994 Kennedy Center / American College Theatre Festival Student Playwriting Award Winner for his play Prisoner. Prisoner has subsequently been published by Samuel French, Inc. His play Good Riddance was featured as a staged reading at the 1995 Mt. Sequoyah New Play Retreat. His most recent play, Autumn in the Valley which is a collaboration with his brother John Bell, was part of the Utah Shakespearean Festival’s Plays in Progress program in August 1999. It was also performed as a staged reading at the Egyptian Theatre in Park City, Utah. Mr. Bell has served as a production dramaturg for Tartuffe, Dancing at Lughnasa, and Top Girls, all at Florida State University.
